SEBASTIANS' RESIDENCE
This residence was a full-scale renovation project. The very first time I visited this 900 odd square feet small, poorly lit apartment in Bangalore, the one thing that was abundantly clear was that a lot needed to change to make this space into a beautiful welcoming space that my client could call their home. Pretty much everything in this home was renovated within the constraints of the existing grid. This involved civil, electrical, and plumbing changes besides changing flooring, windows, and all internal cabinetry. Wherever possible existing doors were refinished and reused. The design that evolved was largely in response to this. Luckily it helped immensely that as far as major design decisions were concerned the client who at that time resided outside Bangalore gave us a free hand right till the very end. Thus allowing us the opportunity to bring out the best in the space.
