MISRAS' RESIDENCE

As designers, we often tend to have comfort zones when it comes to our style preferences in designing spaces. Given a choice, our natural design style would lean more towards simple forms and minimalist clutter spaces with a more contemporary look and feel. So when we were approached by the Misras to renovate and upgrade their villa in Bangalore into a classically styled home - for starters it felt like quite a challenge. Over the next few months, as we worked closely with the family to personalize and craft every corner, to create a home that would strike a balance between the rich wooded classical style interiors that they desired and a more contemporary look that we felt would give the space some much-needed lightness. While the design that evolved might at best be called an eclectic mix of varied styles, I do feel that at the end of the day we gave the Misras a home that tells a story - their story.
